" Ji-midori" in your life
It was when I drew the children's book " Seedoro"
that I knew some people tried to grow and increase greenery
locally. The word " Ji-midori" was neoterized
by NPO birth. Drawing the book gave me some change
in my mind.
- I found myself unconsciously watching greenery on my usual
route.
- I became sensitized to greenery and found out that greenery
had been absolutely decreasing.
Now it's my earnest desire to increase greenery.
What should I do?
It's not enough to make Seedoro and plant it in my garden.
I should do something useful every day.
But it's difficult to continue, if it's not pleasant.
You can't contine, if it's with a feeling of duty, or being
forced to do.
It's not pleasant to water a plant complaining "What a
bother!"
Greenery senses such feeling.
Let's start to enjoy! |
|
Be aware of "Greenery
existence"
Think with your eyes closed.
- Remember lush greenery around your neighborhood.
- Take three kinds of flowers bloomed this time of year.
- Take three kinds of vegetables in season now.
Can you give instant answers?
It's important to take a serious look at what let it pass in
the bustle of everyday life. |

|
Enjoy greenery "with your
eyes"
Greenery relaxes your mind.
Colors considerably affect your feeling.
For example, red color makes you feel high and become aggressive,
while the opponent color, green,
feels you relaxed.
Have you ever felt refreshed and recovered from eyestrain when
looking at trees or lawn? That's the power of greenery.
Put a small potted plant in your garden, balcony, or on your
desk.
Take a walk to a lush greenery park.
Stop at a park you usually pass by in hurry, and look up trees.
What is there?
What can you see?
Focus a little bit on greenery. |
|
"Enjoy green
with ears"
listen carefully among the trees. You can hear
murmur of the wind in the trees,
music of little birds,
sound of rain drops,
or, chat of insects.
Have you spent such a time these days? |
|
|
|
Taste green.
Seasonal vegetables fresh from the field taste super-duper
if they're grown by yourself.
Grow herbs and vegetables
Let's try containerized culture on the porch, if there is no
space in your garden.
Or, how about allotment garden?
My father grows vegetables by organic methods in allotment garden. The
vegetables fresh from the garden taste so good, although they
are irregular in shape. |

Touch and feel
greenery
Let's try to make "Green curtain!"
It is made of plants grown on a long trailing like vinedatura
stramonium or bitter gourd.
They lower the temperature as they keep summer sun out and
the moisture transpires through the leaves.
Let's feel the greatness of Greenery! |
|

Make friends through Greenery
I found a small garden and a green curtain made of vinedatura
stramonium in an apartment near my office.
It may be shared place for the residents.
Why don't you take part in this kind of community?
Or, participate in an activity related to Greenery as a volunteer.
It may be fun to make Seedoro with your family or friends and
place them in different places.
Have a talk, make friends with cultivation of greenery.
That will maintain rich contacts between people and nature.
It's "Ji-midori, life with greenery!"
